You must have been living under a rock not to know Rihanna has become the face of J’adore. We first got a whiff the global superstar was set to replace the long-serving Charlize Theron back in April. The official announcement from Christian Dior was made in June. The fabled French fashion house subsequently bestowed upon us our first glimpse at the print campaign for the iconic scent last month.
Now, the long-awaited campaign film starring Rihanna via the lens of Steven Klein is here. To say the minute-long feature is a feast for the eyes would be an understatement.
Rihanna and Steven Klein transport us to the historic Palace of Versailles for the magical and hypnotic commercial. First, Rihanna undresses out of an all-black number. Next, she grabs a bottle of the J’adore fragrance from the safe. Next, she slips into a shimmering gold creation (designed by current Christian Dior creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri). As she begins to move throughout the palace, Rihanna roams the decadent former royal residence, including one of the most emblematic rooms: The Hall of Mirrors. Finally, toward the end of the film, Rihanna is captured outside of the palace at sunrise and struts her stuff in one of the vast ponds as she utters the words “Your dreams… make them real.” Furthermore, to add to the strong sense of drama, the video is set to Rihanna’s Love on the Brain.
Goosebumps. We’ve got goosebumps.
