Saoirse Ronan Wore Louis Vuitton To 'The Outrun' Edinburgh Festival Premiere

Saoirse Ronan made her much-anticipated return to the red carpet for the opening gala world premiere of ‘The Outrun’ during the Edinburgh International Festival.

The Irish actress, known for her impeccable style, faced mixed reactions when she was officially announced as an ambassador for Louis Vuitton. I, for one, was optimistic about the partnership, but it seems that optimism might be fading.

Many of you were disappointed with her Louis Vuitton dress for the Berlin Film Festival, and I suspect those feelings might extend to this new custom Louis Vuitton tunic dress. The trompe l’oeil cable embroidery in silver stones and sequins, combined with black satin leather side panels, presents a bold and intricate design. However, when all is said and done, it feels like an attempt to dress Saoirse in something that doesn’t quite align with her style personality.

The dress, while visually striking, lacks the effortless charm we’ve come to expect from Saoirse. It’s technically well-executed, but I can’t help but feel it misses the mark in capturing the essence of what makes her such a unique presence on the red carpet. The black satin high-heel platform sandals were an obvious choice to tie in with the dress’s panels, but they don’t elevate the look as much as they should.

For a custom piece, this look is a bit disappointing. It feels more like a mismatch of style rather than a true reflection of Saoirse’s fashion identity. Perhaps the partnership with Louis Vuitton has yet to find its stride, but for now, this ensemble leaves me hoping for better future appearances. MESSIKA jewels completed her look, but even they couldn’t save it from feeling a bit underwhelming.
