Selena Gomez joined her Emilia Pérez co-star Zoe Saldana at The Royal Festival Hall this evening for the 2025 BAFTAs, where she was nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category.
Wearing a Schiaparelli Haute Couture beaded and crystal-embellished taupe dress, Selena delivered a moment of pure haute couture magic. From the silhouette to the exquisite craftsmanship, this dress was absolutely spellbinding. However… can we talk about the black contrasting velvet bustier?
Don’t get me wrong—I love a layered detail, but something about the deep contrast feels a bit jarring against the ethereal body of the dress. I’m trying to picture it in a darker shade of taupe instead. A tonal approach could have maintained the contrast without breaking the spell.
I’m curious—am I alone on this? Because this is so close to perfection for me. Had that bustier not been black, this would’ve easily taken the crown for my favourite look of the night.
But let’s not lose sight of how radiant she looks. Tiffany & Co. Archives earrings and bracelets, plus a ring with a diamond over 10 carats and a Tiffany Victoria® ring, added that extra sparkle to an already dazzling moment.
