Shay Mitchell was spotted in New York today, toting luggage.
For her romp in the city, the “Pretty Little Liars” star styled a pair of black mesh ballet flats. The silhouette included breezy mesh uppers, thin straps and adjustable silver buckle closures on the sides. Although it wasn’t clear what brand Mitchell’s footwear was from, similar styles can be found from the likes of Steve Madden, Dolce Vita, Theory, Schutz, Mango, Rag & Bone and Free People, just to name a few.
The mesh uppers bring the classic silhouette into the 21st century, updating and modernizing it with a unique twist. Mitchell’s pair offered her ensemble a dainty dancerly touch, elevating her otherwise simplistic and ultra-casual look.
Ballet flats have become a fixture of the fashion and footwear worlds as of late. Not just reserved for the dance world, the silhouette has enjoyed a resurgence, gaining popularity thanks to the “balletcore” microtrend that took over within the past few years. There aren’t many brands, high-end or otherwise, that haven’t remixed the beloved shoe with sparkling flourishes or maximalist touches.
In a casual move, the “Something from Tiffany’s” actress wore black sweats in an oversized ultra-cozy style paired with a cropped plain white t-shirt. Rounding out her look, Mitchell donned thin black sunglasses and an array of simplistic jewelry on her ears and around her wrist.
Mitchell’s shoe style is sleek and trendy. The actress often wears pointed-toe pumps and booties that complement her contemporary, faintly edgy personal style, often hailing from luxury brands including Gianvito Rossi, Louis Vuitton, and Sophia Webster.
Mitchell also regularly slips on heeled sandals, mules, and chunky loafers in trendy silhouettes and colors, from labels such as Amina Muaddi, Sophia Webster, and Femme LA. The actress’ off-duty rotation regularly includes loafers and lace-up sneakers from Miu Miu, Nike, and Gucci, among others.
