I don’t think I can wait another moment longer to begin shopping for summertime. My spring wardrobe is similar to my personal style for summer, but the biggest difference is that I mostly wear sandals for everyday wear. Ditch the booties and step into strappy sandals for the new season. With the change in seasons, we get to incorporate more shoes that we haven’t been able to wear for some time now. This is more than sandals but includes more types of shoes such as mesh flats and slingback heels. Finding shoes that I can walk long distances in the city in is something I always have on my mind. This is where casual sneakers come into play, but don’t worry there are tons of great stylish options. I’m trading my rain boots for a new pair of sandals. These are the shoe trends on our shopping list for everything from beach trips to a date night.
Trends
Firstly, I love the hottest trends just as much as the next girl, but there is one major thing to remember. Trends come and go, but they’re still really fun! I think it’s all about intentions when it comes to purchasing shoes that are trendy. Sometimes they are only in style for a short period of time. We want to find ways to keep them useful in your closet. For instance, going for trendy sandals in a variety of colors might not stay in style for the next year. I love a pop of color just like the next girl! Versatile shoes are going to be your best friend when it comes to actually shopping based on trends. We don’t have to be building a capsule wardrobe here, your shoe game is how you accessorize. If you want fun pairs in fun colors for summer shoes, then that’s where you can begin with shopping.
Budget
Secondly, we can sometimes go over the top when it comes to shopping for new pairs of shoes. We’ve all done it and it’s easy to get excited and carried away. Creating a budget for the season to shop with can aid in this. You can shop for practical shoes and spend less on them to get more or splurge on the one’s you’ve had your eye on and just get a ton of wear out of them. There’s really no wrong way to go about it, it’s all about how you’re feeling and what you think you need and want in your closet. There’s nothing wrong with setting a budget for shopping, it can hold all of us accountable for our actions. I’ll be pulling the ideal shoe at all different price points, so once you determine your budget, you can shop your top pick. The world we live in is all full of dupes, too, so if you see something you like that’s pricey, a better way to shop may be going for the dupe of them.
A pair of shoes goes a long way, especially if they are comfortable enough to walk in all over the city and can easily pair with anything in your closet. Fashion trends all have dupes at affordable prices, so you can find the right shoe for the new warm season. Comfy fashion sneakers are classic style, especially if you have to commute to work. I would say maybe that pair of pumps won’t fit into your budget but maybe wedge sandals will and that can be the compromise here.
Practical Shopping
Finally, you know how I am with practicality and finding new shoes that go with a majority of my closet ! Practicality is everything, especially living in a major city where there is a ton of walking. I want to have shoes that I can not only be comfortable getting from point a to point b in, but shoes that I will get a ton of wear out of. Our closets are only so big here! A few of examples of a practical shoe wardrobe are ballerina style flats, a classic shoe like Mary janes, kitten heels and espadrille wedges.
