Snoop Dogg made an appearance in his role as an NBC correspondent on Saturday at the Paris Olympics 2024’s dressage finals event wearing an unexpected look — an equestrian-inspired outfit that included brown leather chaps and black Skechers sneakers from his own collection in lieu of traditional riding boots.
Snoop was joined by Martha Stewart, a fellow Skechers ambassador, who told NBC on Friday that he called her for advice on calming his fear of horses. She suggested they don dressage looks.
The Skechers x Snoop Dogg leather “Slip-ins Snoop One – OG” court-style sneaker features smoke graphics on the heel counter, “Snoop S” emblazoned on the toe bumper, stretch laces and the brand’s proprietary Heel Pillow, which enhances security around the foot. The shoe debuted in August last year. He had a hand in helping to design the collection in collaboration with the brand’s team. The result was a “Snoopified” four-piece lineup of streetwear-inspired styles.
Snoop and Stewart have multi-year partnerships with the brand. Last year Greenberg praised their enthusiasm for collaborating on the designs. “Working alongside Martha and Snoop, and realizing their passion for their brands is inspiring,” said Greenberg at the 2023 Footwear News Achievement Awards, where he was honored with the Person of the Year Award. “Both are incredibly talented when it comes to style and product. So having their input and their creativity just makes it that much more fun.”
Last month, Skechers unveiled five new sneakers in collaboration with the rapper ahead of Paris Olympics 2024, where he also served as a torchbearer in gold croc-embossed high-tops from the new Snoop Dogg x Skechers Paris Olympics capsule collection, which nods to his career and the host city.
