Proenza Schouler kicked off New York Fashion Week early on Wednesday morning. Along with its spring ’25 collection, the label debuted a limited-edition footwear collaboration with Sorel on the runway.
The collab — which marks Sorel’s first designer partnership since its Sorel x Chloé boot in 2017 — sees new iterations of the brand’s Caribou Mule and Caribou Chelsea Boot. The all-weather designs are crafted from a sleek leather in a palette of black, ochre and ecru. Each shoe features signature Proenza Schouler heavy contrast stitch for detailing, with a custom back logo tab.
“We expanded on Sorel’s classic Caribou structure and aimed at urbanizing it by polishing it and stripping it back while respecting and preserving its highly functional qualities,” said Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, founders and creative directors of Proenza Schouler.
The collaboration will be available for purchase on Oct. 22 at Sorel, Proenza Schouler and select online retailers. A campaign shot by photographer Zoë Ghertner will be released at a later date to accompany the collection.
Added Sorel president Cory Long: “It’s been thrilling to see our iconic Caribou silhouette translated into two runway-worthy styles. Our shared appreciation for refined craftsmanship just made it work really well. The collection tells a story for both brands, and that’s ultimately what it’s all about.”
