Split Color Blocking Appears On A Winter-Worthy Nike Air Max 90

The Nike Air Max 90 will celebrate its 35th anniversary next year, but as of now, Nike doesn’t appear to be putting much stock in the milestone. The Beaverton brand broke out all the stops for the model’s 30th anniversary five years back, introducing the new re-crafted cut, and the Air Max 95 appears to be the lone subject of anniversary-related Air Max releases in 2025.

However, that’s not to say the quantity of Air Max 90 releases is lacking. Tinker Hatfield’s iconic design is a mainstay and one of the biggest assets in Nike’s portfolio, and the Beaverton brand’s Fall 2024 slate is packed with compelling colorways. This latest pair takes a conservative approach, splitting two different dark colors between the upper and lower halves for a cold weather-friendly arrangement.

Official colors remain a mystery for now, but the top half aligns well with Nike’s “Midnight Navy” hue while the midsole comes painted in black. When it comes to materials, the mudguard, quarter panel, and Swoosh are all crafted out of leather, enhancing the shoe’s cold weather aesthetic. For branding, a blue-on-blue tongue and “Nike Air” heel patch aligns well with the low-contrast, muted color combo.

These are projected to arrive Fall/Winter 2024 for $130, although Nike hasn’t set a firm date at the time of this writing. Know that our Sneaker Release Dates page will display all the most current information as it comes in.
