I cannot believe I am talking about college for my kids already. That went quick, didn’t it. College is so important to our children’s future, and so many choices to choose from, it can be a bit overwhelming. I know when I went to college, I was extremely unsure and definitely not prepared. Over time, I adjusted and was able to get an excellent education. However, having some prep and hands on experience would have made things so much easier and more enjoyable for me. That’s why I’m excited about Summer Discovery. It’s a nationwide college prep program with over 300 courses across 12 fields of study, with 18+ locations at prestigious campuses.

I’m a firm believer in the power of education, and so is Summer Discovery, which is why they’ve created a network of courses that help college-bound young adults get a head start, and children as young as those in first grade take their love of learning to the next level. This program is the largest provider of pre-college, enrichment, and gifted programs for children in grades 1 through 12.

Their network spans a wide variety of studies, including law, medicine, engineering, and psychology, just to name a few. In addition, they provide the best in class travel and recreation, exclusive campus access, residential life experience, and safety standards, with experienced, talented instructors, professors, counselors, and advisors who are passionate about our next generation’s success.

One thing that really sets Summer Discovery apart for me is that they make learning fun and engrossing, weaving it into other experiences to ensure children of all ages remain active and engaged. In addition to studies, the program offers off-campus activities, sports, and seeing iconic landmarks in their campus home cities. This unique approach is what makes it such a popular program for educational enrichment. In fact, its pre-college program is ranked the #1 pre-college summer immersion experience by high school college counselors.

So what does all that really mean? It boils down to this: Summer Discovery makes learning fun.

It’s a trailblazer in the field of educational enrichment, offering 60 years of experience in learning, recreation, relationships, and university experience to create a balance of learning and fun the results in a hands-on curriculum that’s pressure-free, promotes educational exploration, and provides an atmosphere that makes the learning process engaging and exciting. It’s a recipe that transforms learning from a “what should I do” experience to a “I know what I want to do” experience.

Summer Discovery at UCLA offers 70 courses including robotics, psychology, and fashion design. At the UCLA Anderson School of Management, students can study sports business, digital marketing, and entertainment. In addition to those and more courses, participants will be able to visit Hollywood, Disneyland, and other local attractions.

At the University of Michigan, students can participate in courses like sports management and CSI forensic science. Excursions offered include visiting the Big House and Cedar Point Amusement Park.

Vanderbilt University offers courses at the School of Nursing Pre-College Academy, positive psychology, and astronomy. While there, participants will be able to explore the cultural and musical hot spots of Nashville.

At Dartmouth College, students will be able to explore data science, creative writing, and medicine while taking advantage of off-campuse experiences like hiking the Appalachian Trail and visiting Six Flags.

The University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School offers a comprehensive introduction to the American legal system guided by the highly experienced and accomplished Penn Law faculty.

Of course, these are just a few of the many and varied courses and experiences that college-bound kids can take advantage of through Summer Discovery. In addition to all of these, a whole host of other opportunities are available to these young adults as well as kids of all ages. I love the depth and breadth of the educational opportunities offed by Summer Discovery, and if you have a child who’s nearing the college years, I urge you to give them a look. Chances are there’s something for them!
