Tate McRae was spotted having a date night in New York on Aug. 23 alongside her boyfriend and fellow musician The Kid Laroi.
The Canadian songstress opted for a causal but cute footwear moment, sporting a pair of ballet flats. McRae’s pick was crafted of glossy black leather uppers that transitioned into almond-shaped toes and non-slip rubber soles.
The silhouette isn’t unlike traditional styles from brands like Capezio. The slip-on silhouette was neutral and versatile, pairing well with the more striking pieces featured in the star’s look for the night. No matter the composition, ballet flats have become a staple for many top stars given their comfort and versatility.
Ballet flats of all kinds are becoming exceedingly popular as of late. The style has enjoyed a renaissance, becoming the it-girl shoe in a flash for its diverse silhouette and immense comfort. The girly and playful style can be purchased from a wide range of brands including Prada, Circus NY, Coach, Miu Miu, Maison Margiela, Free People and Zara, just to name a few. Not just for dancers, ballet flats have received a major upgrade, coming in a myriad of colors, textural and prints.
On the outfit front, the “That Way” singer sported a sparkling black cropped cami with a square neckline. The piece was crafted of a woven fabric flecked with sparkles throughout. On the bottom, the performer donned black trousers with the waist unbuttoned and folded down.
The style featured ample pocket room and ultra-baggy legs, offering McRae a wide range of movement. Overtop her sparkling cami, the songstress sported a vibrant hot pink faux-fur shrug worn off-the-shoulders. Giving Barbiecore vibes, the piece acted to break up all the black elements of her look, creating a diverse color story. Simple and cute, McRae rounded out her ensemble with an array of gold jewelry.
