Taylor Swift, reigning queen of boots, took part in Monday Night Football on Oct. 7, when Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs snagged a win against the New Orleans Saints. The superstar, who recently became the richest female musician in the world, arrived to Arrowhead Stadium in a Vivienne Westwood ensemble including a pair of edgy platform leather boots.
Swift, avowed lover of fall and the cozy things associated with it — including plaid — stepped out in a tartan dress in muted hues of red and gray, perfect for an October day. From Vivienne Westwood’s fall 2024 collection, the dress featured a cowlneck with a sweetheart outline leading into off-the-shoulder sleeves.
The fabric of the bodice folded and gathered at the waist while the A-line miniskirt featured an asymmetrical hemline. The “Fortnight” singer modeled her go-to red lip and shook up her makeup look with a smattering of sparkling freckles.
Swift is always on-theme when it comes to supporting Kelce at his games, having stepped out in a range of red outfits this NFL season and last — and the ensembles often include boots as of late.
Swift complemented the plaid dress with another item from Vivienne Westwood — the brand’s $1,270 Grace Boot. Westwood’s official description of the boot says that the design was inspired by shoes included in the Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood Autumn-Winter 2023-24 show. The boots, which hit below the knee, feature stretch fabric that hugs the leg, a substantial platform that slopes upward into a pointed toe, and a towering block heel. They are crafted in Italy and draw their name from fashion icon Grace Jones.
Swift has stepped out in this shoe before; in September, she attended a VMAs after party wearing the Grace boot with what appeared to be a custom look from Monse featuring a sci-fi-inspired design.
Swift’s boots often serve as a major focal point of her outfits. She attended a Chiefs game in early September wearing a denim ensemble with a pair of Giuseppe Zanotti over-the-knee leather boots in red, nodding to the team’s main color with the statement shoe. For a subsequent game, she wore the same style in black and paired them with an oversized Chiefs T-shirt.
Swift also frequently models boots when it comes time to dress up for awards shows or take the stage on her ongoing Eras Tour — at the recent VMAs in September, she wore thigh-high Stuart Weitzman boots, and she performs, of course, in Christian Louboutin.
