The Sailor Pluto Boot 95, released as part of Jimmy Choo‘s latest collaboration with “Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon,” is proving to be a buzzy topic of conversation online.
One X, formerly Twitter, user posted expressing a strong desire for the shoes, writing, “Less ‘how was ur day babe?’ and more ‘babe i got u the jimmy choo x sailor moon Sailor Pluto 95 boot.’” The Nov. 14 post went viral, amassing 6.2 million views and 240.4k likes by Nov. 18. And now the shoes are currently sold out of every size except for 34.5.
The boots are indeed a hot commodity. Megan Thee Stallion, known anime fan, posted photos to her social media in which she wore a “Sailor Moon”-inspired outfit including the aforementioned boots. Also carrying one of Jimmy Choo’s purses from the limited-edition collection, the rapper donned the outfit while on a recent trip to Seoul, South Korea.
Many of those interacting with the most commented on the shoes’ hefty price tag. One user wrote, “Right! Where is Steven (Steve madden) when you need him” alongside a sad face emoji.
Inspired by the popular Japanese anime series, the shoe is available from the luxury brand at a price of $2,395. The navy blue boots feature white trim along the top of the shaft and a jewel-adorned red velvet bow on the back ankle. A block heel lifting up the look measures 95 cm.
