All of Hanna Barbara’s properties are iconic, representing the Golden Age of Cartoons that led to some of the most impactful American artistic properties ever. But Tom and Jerry may be the most iconic of their loaded catalog, squaring off in seven-minute intervals since 1940. As a part of the series’ larger 85th-anniversary celebration, Tom and Jerry are coming to the world of Converse with apparel, custom kicks, and four colorways of the All-Star and Chuck 70 set to release on March 7th.
In the sprawling collection, the all-black Chuck Taylor All Star immediately stands out as the most simplistic, pasting Tom and Jerry peeking above the midsole on either lateral side. However, that’s not to say things remain so straightforward through the rest of the offerings. A grey Chuck 70 pins a slew of action shots onto the canvas upper, with jaw-dropping and eyes-widened visages of the mortal enemies appearing throughout.
A white Chuck Taylor All-Star appears as a celebration of the characters’ overall journey, inserting concept art into an all-over mosaic. Finally, the most evidently eye-catching is a multi-colored Chuck 70 that super-sizes both characters’ faces across the left and right shoe, lending an abstract print when scoping these from close up.
In addition to these adult pairs, a strapped All-Star EasyOn will also land as part of the collection for younger fans. As mentioned earlier, Converse will also induct a host of Tom and Jerry designs into their “Converse By You” program, allowing you to spin off the two nemeses into your own designs. Though you won’t be able to check out until release day, you can cook your pair up preemptively here.
The entire Tom and Jerry Converse collection releases on March 6th, with prices ranging from $80 to $100. Dive deeper into the offerings below, and use our “Where To Buy” widgets for direct pick-up links upon arrival.
