I downloaded this photo before I Googled the timeline; per Wikipedia, Heidi Klum had just given birth to Leni two months before this picture. So I’m sure she’s just wearing whatever was comfortable, and that’s as it should be, even if she decided the answer was a hideous top and one of Seal’s old belts. The fact that it’s haphazard is SO very 2004, in a way that gives me the warm-and-fuzzies. We were simpler then. This website was a month old. Nobody knew what they were doing or even really seemed to try that hard, and celebs calmly showed up at events looking like they bought clothes off the sale rack at Intermix. I kinda miss those days. You know how supposedly all of Europe goes on vacation in August? Maybe all stylists should do that, too, and every year August will be the month of celebrities being forced to leave the house without a team consultation or a strategy session, and to actually acquire stuff from mall stores. I would look forward to that every year. Pass the popcorn.
