Walter van Beirendonck, wacky Belgian menswear designer, collaborated with G-Star on this season’s collection, which he named “Denim With Balls.” It seems that among other techniques, he used a minimum of stitching and instead glued and taped a bunch of stuff?!? The number of times we’ve joked that things look like they were the product of a late night with a glue gun… I like to think he’s making fun of this whole industry from the inside, although to hear him talk about it, he’s actually pretty serious about it representing a new way of doing things. Okay!!! Guess I was right not to learn to sew; I can tape like a genius.
