Will Smith did release a movie after Slapgate, Emancipation, but it mostly flopped (and it’s hard to tell how much if it was the movie, or the controversy, or both). Otherwise we haven’t seen too much of him, but now he’s back on the scene promoting another movie in the Bad Boys franchise — presumably, harkening back to the days when he was one of the world’s bankable, and crucially, uncomplicated, movie stars. In short, I think he’s hoping you’ll take him back.
