Australia got a Gladiator II event without Denzel or Pedro, although they were very much in attendance if you count this horribly crowded poster that worked as the backdrop for the photos. It’s just so LARGE and LOUD and SO MUCH GLOWERING and highly questionable eyeliner. Paul Mescal looks fine — although is it weird that somehow his haircut looks MORE Roman to me now than it does in the movie? — but then they put Connie Nielsen (in a dress I THINK we just saw on Daisy Ridley?) in front of it:
She’s even IN the poster, and it STILL looks like she’s being stalked by a menacing posse of sweaty weirdos. Did it need to be this aggressive? Calm DOWN, GladIIator, sheesh.
