As editor-in-chief of Harper’s Bazaar France, Olivier Lalanne has been extremely good to us in terms of the magazine’s cover stars. From the get-go, subjects have ranged from French icons like Catherine Deneuve and Vanessa Paradis to a whole plethora of top models like Rianne van Rompaey, Imaan Hammam, Kaia Gerber and the iconic Naomi Campbell. On the magazine’s recently-unveiled August 2024 cover is Zaho de Sagazan. Shot inside the photographic studio of Oliver Hadlee Pearch, the French singer-songwriter and musician bends over backwards (quite literally) as Bazaar France’s latest cover girl. Styled by Élodie David-Touboul, Zaho wears a black leather dress from Nicolas Ghesquière‘s 10-year Louis Vuitton collection for Fall 2024.

“Messy. It looks like an art project,” critiqued crmsn.
“This might be their worst cover,” exclaimed forum member avonlea002.
“I’m with you,” replied vogue28. “I’ve come to admire Harper’s Bazaar France a great deal since its relaunch. However, I am simply unable to like and defend this. There’s genuinely not one redeeming quality…”
MModa wasn’t best impressed either, commenting: “Not in love with the cover photograph or the typography. The result is lackluster, especially after a double month issue.”
